Verifiable Process

Six-Stage Handwoven Ledger

From raw fibre verification to export crating, each production run follows our documented manufacturing discipline.

01

Material Intake

Incoming fibre and cord stock inspection

Inspection of incoming fibres and cords for tensile strength, condition, and batch uniformity.

02

Batch Dyeing

Uniform yarn dyeing and mechanical drying

Formulated to brand colour standards, followed by controlled mechanical drying.

03

Handweaving

Senior artisans handweaving according to pattern

Executed by experienced artisans maintaining traditional crochet rhythms and tension control.

04

Forming & Trimming

Careful silhouette trimming and structural forming

Manual silhouette alignment, stray fibre trimming, and structural edge calibration.

Piece-by-Piece QC

Individual piece inspection for dimensions and handle strength

piece-by-piece inspection verifying dimensional tolerance, handle load anchorage, and seam finish.

06

Export Packing

Protective inner bagging and heavy-duty carton packing

Material Characteristics & Behavior

Natural raffia fibre strands with finished handwoven raffia shopper bags on cream paper surface

Natural Raffia

Harvested from palm fronds. Exceptional natural pliability, water tolerance, and soft lustrous touch that softens with age without cracking.

  • Best for: Slouchy totes, clutches, flexible beach carryalls
  • Weight / Feel: Lightweight, ultra-soft, organic sheen
  • Dye Absorption: Excellent tonal depth
Coarse natural rattan fibre

Natural Rattan

A bast fibre with high tensile resistance. Holds rigid three-dimensional forms exceptionally well, providing natural rustic elegance and heavy load capacity.

  • Best for: Market baskets, firm shopper totes, structured bases
  • Weight / Feel: Substantial, earthy, high stiffness
  • Dye Absorption: Warm saturated earth tones
Even twisted paper straw weaving cords

Spun Paper Straw

Engineered twisted kraft paper cords offering uniform diameter, smooth tactile finish, consistent colour matching, and clean strand edges.

  • Best for: Geometric patterns, modern clutches, city totes
  • Weight / Feel: Extremely light, crisp, modern clean look
  • Dye Absorption: Uniform solid colour-card matching
Materials in Current Production

Beyond the L1 Natural Fibre Line

Our atelier builds around the brief — not around a fixed material list. These four directions are already part of current production; other engineered cords can be developed on brief, with MOQ, sampling and lead time quoted individually.

Mixed-material specimen flatlay — jacquard tape, hybrid straw-PU patch, brass frame closure, crochet yarn — WEFTAVA capability

Direction 01

Textile & Synthetic Cords

Jacquard tapes, braided ribbons, waxed polyester cords and other engineered weaving stocks worked into our handwoven silhouettes. Current production includes PU, polyester, PVC, neoprene, EVA and acrylic; other cords on brief.

Direction 02

Mixed Structures

Hybrid builds pairing a natural fibre body with textile or hardware frames — a woven body on a webbing shoulder band, or a cord weave meeting a metal frame closure.

Direction 03

PU Patches & Trim

Patches, handles and trim detailing worked in PU — in the finish, grain and colour you specify. Woven accents sit alongside the fibre body, not in place of it.

Direction 04

Crochet

A core handcraft discipline alongside flat weaving. Available for the full silhouette or as structured accents inside a mixed build, in your chosen yarn or cord.

Common questions

What is your minimum order quantity?

100 pieces per style. We can negotiate by series or by style, and mixed-style cartons are available.

How long does sampling take?

10–15 days for an original sample, depending on the style.

How long does bulk production take?

30–45 days for a standard run. Allow 45–60 days where custom dyeing or new hardware tooling is involved.

Which materials do you work with?

Raffia, natural straw, rattan, paper straw and cotton cord. Plant fibres are our main line; for other materials we assess feasibility before sampling.
