Manufacturing Discipline

Rooted in Tangible Workshop Reality

Unlike sourcing agents or trading brokers, WEFTAVA directly operates its own handwoven bag workshop. Our craftspeople are trained in legacy plaiting, multi-strand braiding, and tight crochet knotting.

Every bag is woven by hand, while structural reinforcements—such as interior cotton twill linings, reinforced PU handle anchors, and precision metal zips—are completed in-house using heavy-gauge industrial sewing machines. This integration guarantees consistent tolerances across batch runs of 100 to 5,000 pieces.

We decline unrealistic commercial claims: we do not promise overnight turnaround on complex manual crafts, nor do we employ unverified environmental certificates. We simply operate a disciplined workshop producing genuine handwoven goods to verified buyer specifications.

Production Flow

The Six Verified Stages of Every WEFTAVA Bag

A transparent walkthrough of our workshop workflow, detailing the actual physical touchpoints that each piece undergoes.

Raw raffia and rattan fibres sorted and inspected for fibre condition
Stage 01

Material Intake & Testing

Natural raffia, cotton cord, and spun paper cords are unbundled upon arrival. Our team screens raw strands for tensile strength, fibre condition equilibrium, and absence of foreign fibers. Batches failing fiber uniformity thresholds are rejected immediately.

Even batch dyeing formulated to brand colour card swatches
Stage 02

Batch Dyeing & Mechanical Drying

Yarns are dyed in temperature-monitored dye baths precisely formulated to brand your colour card. After dyeing, fibres are dried rather than irregular outdoor drying, ensuring uniform pigment lock without UV fading or water marks.

Artisan hands crocheting raffia basket weave according to master tech pattern
Stage 03

Senior Artisan Handweaving

Master artisans weave bag bodies following technical paper patterns. Weaving proceeds according to traditional crochet and braiding rhythms, controlling knot tension so that the finished piece retains both structural resilience and comfortable flexibility.

Manual silhouette trimming and edge alignment
Stage 04

Forming & Trimming

Woven shells are aligned to master shape forms. Stray fibers are carefully trimmed, edge bindings are turned and secured, and structural symmetry is calibrated against master millimeter blueprints.

Quality inspector verifying handle stitch anchor strength and inner lining clean finish
Stage 05

Piece-by-Piece Quality Inspection

Every single finished bag undergoes individual inspection. Inspectors verify dimensional tolerances (length, width, height, handle drop), inspect lining cleanliness and zipper fluidity, and apply mechanical pull-tests to handle anchor points.

Bags packed inside protective inner covers and heavy-duty 5-ply export cartons
Stage 06

Protective Export Packaging

Approved items are enclosed in breathable protective covers to shield fibers from abrasive rubbing. They are packed into reinforced 5-ply export corrugate cartons with calculated box density to avoid crushing during maritime container transit.
